Location: Newcastle upon Tyne

Bar Supervisor – Shearer's Bar, Newcastle, St James' Park, Newcastle United Football Club

Salary: £29,311 per annum + excellent benefits

Hours:

40hrs per week, 5/7 mainly evenings and weekends. Free parking, free meals on duty.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and inspire a team of bar staff and glass collectors
  • Support the management team in delivering outstanding customer experiences
  • Ensure smooth operation during matchdays, events and peak trading periods
  • Drive sales through effective upselling and product knowledge
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation and compliance
  • Support staff training, development and onboarding
  • Manage stock control, deliveries and stock takes
  • Complete cash handling and till reconciliation accurately
  • Champion health & safety, licensing and food safety standards
  • Lead by example to create a positive, engaging and high‑performing team culture
Must-Have Qualifications
  • Previous supervisory experience within a bar, hospitality, leisure or licensed venue environment
  • Passion for delivering exceptional customer service
  • Strong leadership and team motivation skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Experience working in a busy, customer-facing environment
  • Good understanding of licensing regulations and health & safety requirements
  • Ability to remain calm and organised under pressure
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and event days
Desirable (Preferred) Experience
  • Experience working within stadiums, arenas or other high-volume venues
  • Personal licence holder
  • Experience using POS systems
  • Knowledge of stock control and ordering processes
  • Event or large-scale hospitality experience
