Mechanical Maintenance Tech - Crane Maintenance

Position: Mechanical Maintenance Tech - Crane Maintenance (Permanent)
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne

Zenith People are working with our client who are an established organisation seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support the upkeep and performance of overhead cranes and lifting equipment across a busy operational site.

Key Responsibilities

* Carry out planned preventative maintenance and respond to breakdowns on cranes and lifting systems.

* Conduct scheduled inspections, testing, and routine servicing activities.

* Manage maintenance workloads, ensuring tasks are prioritised and completed efficiently.

* Provide input to improve maintenance routines, schedules, and overall equipment reliability.

* Maintain accurate and compliant records for all crane and lifting equipment maintenance activities.

* Communicate essential information to management, engineering teams, and colleagues across shifts.

* Update stores and parts records during each shift.

* Support the training and development of team members as required.

Skills & Experience

* Time-served engineer with a recognised engineering qualification.

* Experience working under pressure with strong verbal and written communication skills.

* Ability to manage workload effectively and prioritise tasks in line with operational needs.

* Self-motivated, capable of working independently, and committed to delivering high-quality work.

* Competent computer skills, including familiarity with standard MS Office applications.

* Comfortable working at height.

* Previous experience with preventative and reactive maintenance
