ROLE:
Multi‑Skilled Technician (Electrical Bias)
HOURS:
38.5 hours per week – 4 on / 4 off shift pattern (12‑hour shifts)

We're looking for a Multi‑Skilled Technician (Electrical Bias) to join our professional Estates Maintenance team, delivering safe, compliant, and high‑quality electrical maintenance services within a complex healthcare environment.
Role Responsibilities- Undertake planned preventative maintenance (PPM), servicing, testing, fault diagnosis, repair, and calibration of electrical and associated building services plant and equipment.
- Carry out emergency lighting testing to BS EN 5266, fixed wire testing to BS 7671, and lightning protection testing to BS EN 62305, rectifying faults as required.
- Respond promptly to reactive maintenance and breakdown requests and carry out electrical isolations for specialist contractors.
- Participate in weekly fire alarm testing and support wider Estates Maintenance team activities through flexible, multi‑trade working.
- Work safely and in full compliance with Trust and departmental Health & Safety procedures, maintaining accurate estates records, asset data, and plant history.
Applicants must meet the below defined requirements for the role:
- Completion of a recognised engineering apprenticeship with City & Guilds, BTEC, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent in an electrical engineering discipline.
- IEE 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) with City & Guilds 2391 (Inspection & Testing) or equivalent.
