The Maxwell Underground Mine
, owned by Malabar Resources Ltd has commenced operations at their Hunter Valley site, with production projected of up to 8 million tonnes of coal per annum. With a long life, the underground mine targets high quality coal, with the majority being metallurgical coal.

We currently have a number of opportunities for individuals looking to kick start their careers in the underground coal mining industry. We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team as a New to Industry Electrical Tradesperson
. This is a fantastic opportunity for those new to the industry to bring your current trade skills and experience to develop valuable skills employing these qualifications in a dynamic and challenging environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop your skills with other experienced tradespeople in maintaining and repairing mining equipment
• Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
• Develop competency working in the underground mining environment to allow you to work independently
• Learn and apply industry-specific skills and techniques
• Contribute to the overall efficiency and productivity of mining operations
• Collaborate with team members to achieve production goals
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Certificate of proficiency (Electrical)
• A strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• The ability to work in a physically demanding environment
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• A commitment to safety and environmental regulations
• Willingness to work shiftwork
• Be willing, and able, to undertake an Order 43 Medical, including drug and alcohol screening.
• Prior experience working on underground mining equipment would be advantageous for all trade holders.
