Building Maintenance, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Field/Service Technician, Maintenance Worker
You'll be helping us provide a reliable, high-quality repairs and maintenance service for our customers, taking a whole-job approach and aiming to get things right first time. It's a hands-on role where the quality of your work and the service you provide can make a real difference to our customers and their homes.
AboutThe Role
As a Multi Trade Operative, you'll carry out a range of repairs, maintenance, improvement and installation work across more than one trade, completing work to Karbon and recognised industry standards for quality, compliance and productivity. We're looking for someone who takes pride in doing a good job and providing great customer service. You'll take ownership of your work, communicate well with customers and colleagues and work collaboratively with the wider team to provide an efficient and customer-focused repairs service.
Safe working is also a key part of the role. You'll follow relevant health and safety requirements and operational procedures, look after the vehicle, equipment and stock issued to you, and keep information and systems updated accurately. You'll also take part in our out-of-hours repairs service when required.
We recognise the contribution people with criminal records can make as colleagues and we welcome all applications. A criminal record will not exclude a candidate from being appointed because of offences that are irrelevant to, and do not place them at, or make them a risk in the role they're applying for. The role you're applying for is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (ROA).
The successful candidate(s) will be asked to submit a basic disclosure and barring check application during pre-employment checks.
You’ll be someone who is reliable, flexible and takes real pride in the quality of their work. Just as importantly, you’ll understand that a great repairs service is about the customer experience as well as the repair itself. To succeed in the role, you’ll need to be fully competent in two or more trades, with the ability to complete the associated tasks to a high standard.
You’ll have completed a recognised general trade apprenticeship or qualification, or have equivalent relevant experience.
You’ll also bring:
- Experience of working effectively as part of a team
- Experience of delivering a high level of customer service
- Good working knowledge of housing maintenance within responsive and void repairs
- Knowledge of construction-related activities and workplace health and safety
- A flexible approach and willingness to adapt
- The ability to organise and prioritise your workload and work well under pressure
- Confidence working independently as well as alongside colleagues
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- A full, valid UK driving licence
We offer a generous benefits package to support your wellbeing and development, including:
- 26 days annual leave (rising to 31 after 3 years)
- Birthday leave
- Occupational pension
- Health cash plan
- Flexible benefits pot
- Access to funding for qualifications, conferences, and learning events
We’re proud to be an inclusive employer. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, identities, and experiences. If you have a disability and meet the essential criteria, you’ll be guaranteed an interview. Need a reasonable adjustment to apply? Contact us at
