Job Type: Full Time | Permanent

Role:
Mobile AC Maintenance & Project Works

Are you an experienced Air Conditioning Engineer looking for a varied mobile role offering a mixture of maintenance, fault finding and AC installation/project work?

We're recruiting for an experienced Mobile Air Conditioning Engineer to join a leading national Facilities Management provider, covering a portfolio of commercial sites across the North West.

This isn't purely a PPM maintenance position. Alongside servicing, reactive maintenance and fault finding, you'll also have the opportunity to get involved with AC installations, replacements, upgrades and project works, giving you plenty of variety.

What's on Offer?
  • Up to £46,000 basic salary
  • Company van and fuel card
  • Predominantly North West coverage
  • Permanent, full-time position
  • Mix of AC maintenance and project/install work
  • Ongoing training and development
  • Career progression opportunities
  • Varied commercial FM portfolio
  • Opportunity to work for an established national FM provider
  • Overtime opportunities
The Role

As a Mobile Air Conditioning Engineer, you'll travel across commercial sites throughout the North West, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on a range of air conditioning and HVAC equipment.

You’ll be responsible for servicing systems, diagnosing faults, completing repairs and ensuring equipment continues to operate efficiently and reliably.

Alongside your maintenance responsibilities, you’ll also support project and installation works, including system replacements, upgrades and new AC installations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on air conditioning systems
  • Attend reactive AC breakdowns and call-outs
  • Diagnose faults and complete repairs
  • Service and maintain split and multi-split systems
  • Work on VRV and VRF systems
  • Maintain associated HVAC equipment
  • Carry out AC installation works
  • Complete system replacements and upgrades
  • Support AC and HVAC project works
  • Carry out commissioning where required
  • Complete refrigerant checks and associated documentation
  • Identify remedial and additional works
  • Complete job sheets and service documentation
  • Liaise professionally with customers and site teams
  • Ensure work complies with F-Gas regulations and Health & Safety requirements
What We're Looking For

We're looking for an experienced Air Conditioning Engineer with a strong commercial maintenance background who is also comfortable getting involved with installation and project work.

You’ll need to be confident working independently across multiple customer sites and have strong fault-finding skills across a variety of AC equipment.

Essential Requirements
  • F-Gas Category 1
  • Recognised Air Conditioning / Refrigeration qualification
  • Previous commercial AC maintenance experience
  • Experience with split, multi-split and VRV/VRF systems
  • Strong fault-finding and repair skills
  • Comfortable undertaking AC installation/project works
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Good customer-facing and communication skills
  • Flexibility to undertake occasional night work
Occasional Night Work

The position is predominantly a daytime role, but some installation and project works need to be completed outside normal customer operating hours.

Candidates must therefore be prepared to work occasional nights, potentially around three nights per month.

Where required, these are likely to be completed as a block of approximately three consecutive nights, rather than regular individual night shifts throughout the month.

This is not a permanent night position, but candidates must be comfortable with this level of flexibility before applying.

A Varied AC Role

This position should particularly suit an engineer who doesn't want to spend every day carrying out routine PPMs.

You’ll have a mixture of:

  • Planned AC maintenance
  • Reactive breakdowns
  • Fault finding and repairs
  • Remedial works
  • AC installations
  • Equipment replacements
  • System upgrades
  • Project works

You’ll be joining an established national Facilities Management provider, offering the stability of a large FM business alongside a varied workload and opportunities for continued training and career development.
