Newcastle Middle School is seeking a creative, energetic, and dedicated Science Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. The ideal candidate will foster a lifelong curiosity for the natural world by helping students explore scientific phenomena, conduct hands‑on investigations, and develop critical thinking skills in a supportive laboratory environment.

• Curriculum Development:
  Design and implement engaging science lessons aligned with the Oklahoma Academic Standards for Science (OAS-S), covering topics such as Physical Science, Life Science, and Earth/Space Systems.
• Instruction:
  Guide middle school students through the scientific method and engineering design process, emphasizing inquiry‑based learning, data analysis, and evidence‑based claims.
• Laboratory Management:
  Maintain an organized, safe, and inspiring classroom and lab environment; manage scientific equipment, chemicals, and department budgets while strictly adhering to safety protocols.
• STEM Integration:
  Incorporate technology and hands‑on projects to celebrate student achievement and real‑world problem‑solving.
• Collaboration:
  
  Work with the science department and grade‑level teams to integrate cross‑curricular projects and participate actively in professional learning communities (PLCs).

• Valid Oklahoma Teaching Certificate with an endorsement in Middle Level Science, Intermediate Science, or a specific secondary science discipline.
• Bachelor’s degree in Science Education or a related field.
• Strong classroom management skills tailored to the unique needs of middle school students.
• Ability to demonstrate scientific techniques and provide constructive, encouraging feedback.

• Experience teaching middle school‑aged students.
• Proficiency in integrating digital lab equipment (probeware) and technology into the curriculum.
• Experience with 5E instructional models or project‑based learning (PBL).

Newcastle Public Schools operates on a 4‑day instructional week (Monday–Thursday).
