Sr. Manager of Engineering & Maintenance – Food Manufacturing

$140,000–$150,000 | Onsite
We’re partnering with a well-established food manufacturing organization to hire a Sr. Manager of Engineering & Maintenance for a large, high-volume processing facility in Connecticut.
This is a plant-level leadership role with broad ownership and visibility. The right leader will take full responsibility for engineering strategy, maintenance excellence, capital execution, and team development—while ensuring safety, reliability, and continuous improvement across the facility.
Responsibilities- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers and maintenance managers/supervisors, driving accountability and technical excellence
- Own and continuously improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend asset life
- Oversee all engineering and maintenance activities across production equipment, utilities, electrical systems, and plant infrastructure
- Plan, justify, and execute capital and expense projects from concept through commissioning—on time and within budget
- Partner cross-functionally with Operations, EHS, Quality, and corporate teams to support plant and enterprise initiatives
- Establish, track, and act on maintenance KPIs to improve reliability, cost control, and operational performance
- Manage vendors, contractors, and service providers, including sourcing, negotiations, and performance oversight
- Ensure compliance with GMPs, food safety standards, environmental regulations, and internal corporate policies
- Champion a strong safety culture through inspections, risk assessments, and proactive engagement with plant teams
- 8+ years of engineering and/or maintenance experience in food, beverage, or CPG manufacturing
- Demonstrated people leadership experience managing engineers, supervisors, or maintenance teams
- Strong background in preventive/predictive maintenance, plant utilities, and manufacturing equipment
- Experience with automation and PLC systems

- Strong communicator with the ability to influence across operations, leadership, and technical teams
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Senior leadership role with real ownership and decision-making authority
