The Connecticut Department of Transportation seeks a Transportation Planner 2 to lead transit planning and data analysis within the Planning and Data Analysis Unit in Newington, CT. This role involves developing transit plans and studies, coordinating with transit providers on planning initiatives, synthesizing and analyzing data from multiple sources, and producing technical reports and presentations to support decision-making. The position supports the Bureau's essential work in ensuring transit services are effectively planned, performance is monitored, and investments are strategically targeted to meet statewide mobility needs.
Keyqualifications
- Seven years of professional experience in transportation engineering or transportation, urban, regional, or environmental planning
- One year of experience with individual responsibility for coordination of complex planning projects
- Data analysis, interpretation, and visualization skills
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Knowledge of multi-modal transportation planning theory, practices, and methodologies
- Ability to develop and use computer software including planning models
