Rail Fabricator
We are seeking a highly skilled Rail Fabricator to join our miscellaneous metals team. This role is ideal for a candidate with extensive experience fabricating and assembling complex railing systems with a strong focus on quality, precision, and efficiency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Fabricate and assemble railings including stairs, guardrails, handrails, ornamental rails, etc.
- Interpret shop drawings, field measurements, and specifications to ensure accurate fabrication
- Perform layout, cutting, fitting, welding, and finishing of various metals (steel, stainless, aluminum)
- Ensure all work meets quality standards and project specifications
- Collaborate with shop supervisors, project managers, and detailers to resolve fabrication challenges
- Maintain production schedules and communicate delays or issues proactively
- Operate shop equipment safely and efficiently (saws, welders, grinders, etc.)
- Assist with training and mentoring less experienced fabricators as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety protocols
- 7–10+ years of experience in miscellaneous metals fabrication, with a strong focus on railings
- Proven ability to fabricate complex and custom railing systems independently
- Strong knowledge of welding techniques (MIG, TIG; stainless/aluminum experience preferred)
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and specifications
- Familiarity with industry standards and codes related to railing systems
- High attention to detail and commitment to craftsmanship
- High school diploma or GED (trade school preferred but not required)
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and perform physical shop work (standing, bending, lifting)
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work with minimal supervision
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
- Ability to work overtime as needed to meet deadlines
- Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screening, and background check
