Commercial Driver Opportunity

Coastal Forest Products, a leading wholesale distributor of specialty building products, is currently seeking a dependable and safety-conscious Commercial Driver to join our team and ensure timely, secure product deliveries to our valued customers. This is a local, Monday – Friday, route and daytime position with some flexibility in working hours and based out of Newington, CT. This role is no touch & does not require the driver to load or unload orders.

Our drivers ensure that our premium wood and composite products arrive in perfect condition, helping our customers keep their projects on track. Job Responsibilities:

• Operate tractor and trailer safely and responsibly at all times.
• Deliver products accurately according to assigned routes.
• Utilize an Electronic Log Device (ELD) in compliance with state regulations and company policy.
• Report maintenance needs or equipment issues promptly.
• Assist with securing loads using straps or vehicle curtains as necessary at delivery sites.
• Perform all required vehicle inspections and maintain a clean and organized vehicle.
• Complete daily paperwork and communicate effectively using company-provided electronic devices.
• Represent the company professionally, fostering positive relationships with customers.

Job Location &

Schedule:

• Newington/Hartford, CT area
• Full-time, Monday-Friday, daytime hours, flexible start time
• Local route delivery to lumber yards, home daily

Required Qualifications &

Experience:

• Current CDL Class A with a valid DOT Medical Card (or ability to pass a DOT Physical).
• 1-2 years of commercial driving experience with a strong safety record preferred
• Strong commitment to following all safety protocols and procedures.
• Knowledge of CSA and FMCSR regulations.
• Acceptable driving record meeting Insurance Provider standards.
• Ability to pass a Pre-Employment Health Check and DOT Drug Test.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to bend, squat, or pull as required.
• Capability to lift or move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable sitting for extended periods during driving.
• Able to work outdoors in varied and extreme weather conditions.
