Data Center Operations Technician

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Data Center Operations Technician to support a company focused on delivering mission-critical enterprise IT infrastructure solutions within the defense sector. This position is on-site in Newington, VA
. The Data Center Operations Technician will support and maintain data center hardware and infrastructure to ensure high availability and operational readiness.

• Install, configure, maintain, and decommission servers, storage systems, and network devices in a data center environment
• Perform rack and stack, cabling, and hardware deployments following established standards and best practices
• Troubleshoot hardware, cabling, and connectivity issues, performing root cause analysis and resolving incidents
• Execute hardware lifecycle activities including upgrades, migrations, testing, and decommissioning
• Collaborate with engineering, networking, and facilities teams while maintaining accurate documentation and SOP adherence

• 5+ years of experience in data center operations or infrastructure support
• Strong technical experience with bare-metal servers, storage systems, TCP/IP networking, VLANs, DNS, and DHCP
• Demonstrated skills in troubleshooting, cable management, rack layouts, and hardware diagnostics
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• Active TS/SCI clearance
• Security+ certification required

• Salary Range:
  Up to $180,000 depending on experience
