Technical Writer with Security Clearance

* This position requires a TS/SCI clearance for consideration
* Zachary Piper Solutions is currently seeking a Technical Writer to support a mission-critical government program based in Newington, VA . This position is a full-time role that is fully onsite . This position is critical in ensuring accurate, compliant, and effective documentation across technical and cybersecurity environments. As a Technical Writer, you will play a pivotal role in translating complex technical concepts into clear, concise documentation supporting DoD and Army standards within a high-stakes environment.

Key Responsibilities:

* Develop, edit, and maintain technical documentation including system manuals, SOPs, reports, and knowledge base content
* Translate complex technical, cybersecurity, and IT concepts into clear, user-friendly documentation for technical and non-technical audiences
* Ensure all documentation aligns with DoD and Army standards, including MIL-STD and applicable style guides
* Collaborate with engineers, cybersecurity professionals, and program stakeholders to gather and validate technical information
* Manage document lifecycle processes, including version control, updates, and archival procedures
* Utilize tools such as Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, SharePoint, and Adobe Acrobat for document creation, formatting, and diagramming
* Identify documentation gaps and propose improvements to enhance clarity, accuracy, and usability
* Support Agile environments by documenting sprints, workflows, and technical processes as needed
* Maintain consistency in terminology, formatting, and tone across all program documentation Requirements:
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical writing, preferably within IT, cybersecurity, or defense-related environments
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Visio, and Adobe Acrobat
* Experience working with SharePoint and other content management systems
* Familiarity with DoD and Army documentation standards, including MIL-STD formats and style guides
* Strong understanding of IT systems, cybersecurity principles, and network infrastructure terminology
* Experience with version control and document lifecycle management
* Excellent grammar, editing, and formatting skills with strong attention to detail
* Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly convey complex technical concepts
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment
* Familiarity with military terminology and protocols
* Active TS/SCI Clearance REQUIRED Preferred

Skills:

* Experience supporting U.S. Army or other DoD programs
* Knowledge of Agile development methodologies
* Background in cybersecurity principles and IT infrastructure Compensation to include:
* Salary Range: $100,000 - $115,000
