Job Description The Student Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing broad administrative support to Public Works Services, and conducts research to compose and assist with summer project objectives.
Job Requirements Post Secondary courses in a directly related field and experience in an administrative environmentDemonstrated research skills to undertake short term research projects and support the completion of information and assist in the preparation of reports and correspondenceDemonstrates customer service skills with an ability to maintain composure regardless of the demands of the environment.Demonstrated ability to work as a team member as well as the ability to work independently and with minimum supervision to meet deadlines, perform multiple tasks and to respect confidentiality.Ability to work in a computerized environment including Microsoft Office; internet use and general office equipment including multi line phone system, copier, scanner and fax machine and other aspects of an automated office environment.Excellent interpersonal relations, organization, analytical skillsDemonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills; attention to detail and accuracy is necessary a comfort level with numerical data entry.Availability to work overtime as required.The Town of Newmarket is committed to accommodating all applicants in accordance with the Ontario Human Rights Code for all employment activities including the recruitment process.
