Wastewater Treatment Operator

Take on a vital role as an Operator, Water (OIT-IV) in Newmarket, ON. This temporary full-time position focuses on optimizing wastewater treatment and ensuring compliance with regulations.

This role is essential to maintaining operations at wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, and related water systems. Operators will conduct maintenance, perform routine checks, and guide junior staff. The position requires a strong knowledge of water treatment systems and adherence to provincial standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain wastewater treatment plants and pumping stations

• Conduct maintenance checks at water treatment facilities

• Monitor equipment operations and adjust controls

• Assist in designing and installing new equipment

• Maintain compliance with provincial regulations through sampling

Requirements:

• OIT-IV License in Water Treatment and Distribution

• Post-secondary Diploma/Certificate in Environmental Sciences

• Mechanical and electrical equipment maintenance experience

• Valid Class “G” driver’s license

• Ability to work in confined spaces and handle hazardous materials

Excel in wastewater treatment operations and contribute to community health services.
