Position Title
Clerk - Transportation Department 230 Day Calendar
Pay$16.41 an hour
Job DescriptionGreet visitors courteously, determining their needs and directing or escorting them to the proper person. Receive and route incoming calls, answer questions or callers, and take messages for staff members. Assist in preparing reports, type from copy, rough draft, or detailed instructions. Open and distribute mail. Operate the copy machine, computer equipment, and fax machine. Maintain files. Comply with any reasonable oral or written directive of the Manager of Transportation or other appropriate school staff.
RequiredEducation, Certification, or Training
Minimum high school diploma, appropriate clerical and business training/experience.
Required Skills- Word processing and spreadsheet skills.
- Knowledge of a variety of office equipment and procedures.
- Practical knowledge of business English, general vocabulary, spelling, and modern office practices.
- Ability to maintain clerical and confidential records.
- Sound interpersonal skills to meet and deal with the general public, peers, and supervisors in an effective and tactful manner.
- Willingness to expand knowledge and skills.
Two (2) years of acceptable clerical experience preferred.
