Heavy Equipment Operator, Construction Labor / Trades, Road Construction, Maintenance Worker
Southeastern Site Development, Inc. is seeking dependable and motivated General Laborers to support heavy civil construction and earthwork operations. This position assists skilled trades and equipment operators on DOT and public infrastructure projects, including roadways, earthwork, culverts, sidewalks, utilities, and drainage systems.
Key Responsibilities- Perform general labor duties to support heavy civil construction and earthwork operations
- Assist equipment operators with excavation, backfill, and site preparation
- Hand dig, shovel, rake, and trim as directed
- Load, unload, and move materials, tools, and equipment
- Prepare, maintain, and clean work areas, including excavation and pour sites
- Assist with concrete placement, finishing, and curing
- Support installation of erosion control measures and temporary traffic control
- Assist with utility installation, backfill, and compaction
- Follow directions from foremen and supervisors
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized jobsite
- Ability to perform physical labor in a heavy civil construction environment
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work on uneven terrain
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to safety
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a crew
- Prior experience in earthwork, excavation, or roadway construction
- Willing to offer on the job training
- Familiarity with hand tools and basic construction equipment
