Position: Senior CEI Inspector & Entry Level Inspector. Job in Newnan Move Collective Jobs

Are you ready to pave the way to your future? Join us at Volkert, where we are currently seeking experienced Senior and Entry Level CEI Inspectors to enhance our Southeast Region team based in Atlanta, GA
. In these roles, you will collaborate with Project Engineers and Project Administrators, performing essential inspections of roadway and bridge construction along with materials testing to ensure compliance with project specifications.

As a CEI Inspector, you will conduct inspections of asphalt, concrete, structural components, traffic control, and erosion control measures. You may also lead junior inspectors or manage smaller projects such as resurfacing, striping, safety, and bridge maintenance work. Responsibilities include field measurements, accurate reporting, and coordinating with the Project Administrator to maintain quality and productivity throughout the construction process.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Performing and verifying construction-related computations.
  • Inspecting construction activities and monitoring on-site operations.
  • Conducting field tests, sampling materials, and ensuring that completed work meets all relevant plans, specifications, and standards.
  • Writing detailed daily inspection reports, performing verification testing, and documenting test results and observations.
  • Assisting in record-keeping and conducting field measurements as necessary.
  • Working under the general supervision of the Project Administrator.
What you need to succeed:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least two (2) years of construction inspection experience, with a minimum of one (1) year in bridge and/or roadway construction, or be an Engineer Intern with a Civil Engineering degree.
  • Understanding of GDOT specifications and standards along with typical highway construction practices.
  • Ability to read and comprehend roadway construction plans effectively.
  • Possession or ability to earn certifications: GDOT F/CON, GDOT WECS, GSWCC Level 1A, Advanced Traffic Control.
  • Willingness to work primarily daytime shifts with occasional night and weekend shifts.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening, as we prioritize a safe and productive work environment.
  • A valid driver’s license and a satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR).
  • If applicable, a post-offer fit for duty evaluation to confirm the ability to safely perform essential job functions.
