Job Summary Instructor is responsible for performing all aspects of instruction for the Electrical Systems Technology program. The responsibilities of this position include day, evening, and online programs for both traditional and dual-enrolled students.

Required

Education and Experience Diploma in Electrical Systems Technology or related diploma/degree from an accredited institution. OR GA CILB-Electrical Contractor License Three (3) years out of the past five (5) years of experience as an Electrician or Electrical Apprentice.

Valid driver’s license.

Preferred

Education and Experience Associate degree in Electrical Systems Technology or related field from an accredited institution.

Directly related teaching experience at the post-secondary level.

Online teaching experience.

Knowledge and experience in the use of technology: internet, email, Microsoft Office products, Knowledge Management System (KMS), Blackboard, Banner, Degree Works, and Task Stream.

Campus location for this position is the Coweta-Central Education Center. However, this position will start at the Carroll Campus and transfer to Coweta-Central Education Center after the new lab is completed.

Upon employment offer, a background check is required.

Instruction Provides instruction in theory and practical applications of Electrical Systems Technology in accordance with academic state standards.

Instructs face-to-face, hybrid, or on-campus, as needed, in accordance with college faculty loads.

Instructs courses in a classroom and lab environment that closely simulates the environment of the industry.

Utilizes current technology in the classroom and lab.

Evaluates student progress in attaining goals and objectives.

Grades all coursework in a timely manner

Meets with students, staff members, and other educators to discuss student instructional programs and other issues.

Maintains program certification/accreditation requirements as appropriate for the teaching discipline.

Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports.

Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in Electrical Systems Technology.

Attends professional development training, workshops, seminars, and conferences.

Safety and Technology Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the Electrical Systems Technology program.

Supports faculty to ensure all equipment is in working order.

Suggests new/updated technology to remain current with trends and developments within the field.

Ensure students are instructed in and follow all safety rules for operating equipment and using tools.

Ensure classrooms and work areas are properly cleaned and maintained at all times.

Curriculum/Student and Program Learning Outcomes Develops program curriculum, syllabi, goals, and objectives.

Prepares lesson plans for instruction.
