A rapidly growing transportation and logistics organization is seeking an experienced Controller to lead all financial operations across a multi-entity, asset-based platform. This role serves as the senior financial leader responsible for accounting integrity, cash management, financial reporting, compliance, and strategic financial planning.

The Controller will be a key business partner to executive leadership, providing insights that drive profitability, scalability, and long-term growth. This opportunity is well-suited for a hands-on financial leader with experience in logistics, transportation, or other asset-intensive environments.

Key Responsibilities Lead all accounting operations, including GL, AP/AR, payroll, and tax
  • Ensure accurate, GAAP-compliant financial reporting and strong internal controls
  • Oversee cash management, banking relationships, and working capital
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Deliver financial insights and performance analysis to executive leadership
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes
  • Partner with operations on growth modeling, capital needs, and profitability
  • Support pricing, expansion, and acquisition-related financial decisions
  • Manage tax filings, audits, and external advisors
  • Build, lead, and scale the accounting function, systems, and processes (Net Suite)
  • Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA and/or MBA strongly preferred)
    • 7+ years of progressive accounting and financial leadership experience
    • Background in transportation, logistics, or asset-intensive operations strongly preferred
    • Strong knowledge of GAAP, tax, and financial compliance
    • Proven experience managing multi-entity financials and intercompany transactions
    • Advanced Excel skills and ERP system experience
    • Strong leadership, communication, and executive-level business partnering skills
    • Working knowledge of Net Suite
