Job Description & How to Apply Below

SUMMARY The Import/Export Logistics Specialist will take full ownership of trade compliance for the parts business of a well-established heavy equipment manufacturer and dealer network, based in Newnan, GA, and will build the systems that keep it running cleanly for years to come.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Own HTS and ECCN classification accuracy across the parts catalog, including reviewing technical specifications to confirm the right code is applied.
  • Prepare and file time-sensitive import/export documentation and manage bonded shipment activity through the company's Foreign Trade Zone.
  • Track and resolve shipment discrepancies (overages, shortages, damage) in partnership with the procurement team.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with international freight forwarders and customs brokers, including supporting periodic contract negotiations.
  • Lead the buildout of a modern document retention and recordkeeping system for trade compliance records.
  • Serve as the go-to resource during compliance and regulatory audits.
  • Clear the classification backlog and keep HTS/ECCN codes accurate as products and regulations change.
  • File ISF, ACE, and bonded shipment documentation on time, every time, with no scrambling ahead of an audit.
  • Track on-time filing rate, classification backlog reduction, audit results, and freight forwarder performance and cost efficiency as key measures of success.
REQUIREMENTS
  • 5+ years of experience in international trade compliance, customs, or logistics operations; freight forwarder backgrounds are especially valued.
  • Solid working knowledge of HTS and ECCN classification, Incoterms, and Partner Government Agency (PGA) requirements.
  • Comfort reviewing technical drawings and component descriptions well enough to validate a classification decision.
  • Strong data analysis skills, including Excel;
    Smartsheet experience is a plus.
  • A self-starter who is energized by building and improving processes, not just running them.
  • Excellent attention to detail and documentation habits.
