Safety Manager

The position of Safety Manager will be assisting the Divisional Safety Manger in the plant location and will be the local representative of the safety department.
** DUTIES
* * Work safely at all times, be aware of surroundings and understand and comply with Pratt Industries Safety rules, operating procedures, and help hold co-workers responsible for safety related items. Participate in Plant Safety Committee.

Follow at all times GMPs (Good Manufacturing Processes)
Conduct Safety/Accident Investigations when necessary

Help nurture a “Culture of Safety” in the Plant location

Responsibility for site Safety/Surveillance video footage

Superior time management skills and must be self driven and self motivated.

Must have outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail is must.

Ability to solve practical problems: ability to interpret verbal and written instructions.

Multi-tasking; ability to work with various challenges and deal with a variety of situations

Ability to read, comprehend and interpret operating instructions, training and procedure manuals.

Excellent communication skills; able to speak effectively to employees, managers, customers

Excellent listening skills; ability to provide positive and corrective feedback

Ability to perform safety audits

Management and control of documents (safety, training)
Responsible for PAR (Preventive Acton Reports)
Additional duties may be assigned by management.

** REQUIREMENTS
* * College degree in manufacturing, engineering, logistics or equivalent work experience

Experience in a variety of manufacturing areas (production, logistics)3-5 years’ experience in Safety management or mfg/corrugated leadership preferred

Competent with MS Office
** MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
** Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy.

Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume and rate.

Able to apply concepts of high school math.
** REASONING ABILITY
** Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
** PHYSICAL DEMANDS
** Employee is regularly required to walk and talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements include: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
** WORK ENVIRONMENT
** While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and fumes or airborne particles.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
