Job SummaryThe Production Lead will work directly supporting the Production Supervisor to ensure that all assignments for the team are carried out safely and successfully. They will execute on posted schedules and inform employees of important information as directed by the Supervisor, acting as a liaison between the front‑line employees and management.
Job Responsibilities- Enforce company policies and safety regulations, reporting any issues immediately to management or addressing them directly if needed.
- Enter safety related information into company compliance software as directed.
- Execute production schedule as posted and determine if any gaps or changes are needed.
- Fill in by working in production when gaps are noted.
- Ensure employees receive appropriate training (compliance, safety, or technical) as needed.
- Package production documents for processing.
- Maintain accurate attendance information and authorize work schedules according to payroll guidelines.
- Can be asked to lead shift meetings and communicate information to employees as directed by the manager.
- Communicate with other departments to share information as directed.
- Examine and inspect work progress and equipment to verify safety and ensure specifications are met.
- Maintain open lines of communication between team members and management.
- Balance team and individual responsibilities.
- Other responsibilities may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in production/manufacturing required; experience in a concrete manufacturing setting is a plus.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members.
- Demonstrated role model with a good attendance record and positive attitude.
- Experience leading people in some capacity is a plus.
- Knowledge of basic tools and their uses.
- Understand and apply basic math skills (adding, subtracting, division, and multiplication).
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. regularly.
- Must be able to work in a plant production environment involving indoor & outdoor work, exposure to noise, dust, and proximity to hot equipment.
- Job involves walking, climbing stairs/ladders, standing, bending, stretching, and using hands and fingers to hold, grasp, push, and lift items.
- Knowledge of basic measurements and how to read a tape measure.
- Knowledge of computer software.
