NDT Inspector
NDT Inspector is responsible for non-destructive evaluation of gas turbine engine components including such NDT processes as FPI, MPI, Laser, C-Scan, eddy current and X-Ray.
Primary duties and responsibilities:
- Performs tasks such as Laser inspection II, Ultrasonic inspection II, X-Ray inspection II, up to MPI/FPI level II processing and inspection.
- May perform tasks such as dimensional inspection, visual inspection, C of C generation, incoming inspection, repair work scope generation and regulatory paperwork in accordance with work instructions, blueprints, and customer specifications.
- Performs all work in accordance with plant safety rules and maintains highest quality standards in the execution of all assigned work.
- Performs routine preventative maintenance on all machines and other routine labor work as required in accordance with production flow.
- Operator prepares necessary quality documents and confirms quality of own work using inspection tools in accordance with product specifications, blueprints, drawings, and work instructions.
- Operator to adhere to all 5s / CPEX policies and to have a continuous improvement mindset.
Education and work experience:
- Must have HS Diploma or GED. Strong shop mathematics, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals and fractions required.
- On the job experience of 3-5 years as inspector in manufacturing environment.
- On the job experience of 5+ years in manufacturing environment preferred.
- MPI/FPI level II cert preferred
- X-Ray level II cert preferred
- Must be able to follow instructions, read and interpret blue prints.
- Must be able to work in a team environment.
Work environment:
This position will require the employee to wear the following specific PPE that will be provided by the company:
Steel toes shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses.
This position may require work hours outside of the regularly scheduled hours to meet operational needs. This may include work during evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. Additional work hours are assigned based on business requirements. Non-exempt employees will be paid overtime in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
The salary range for this position reflects a broad spectrum of experience levels. Individual compensation within the range is determined by multiple factors, including relevant experience, education, certifications, job related skills, internal equity, and market conditions.
