Registered Nurse, Intensive Care Unit PRN
Directly cares for patients in the ICU, collaborating with physicians and other health professionals. Provides leadership to non‑licensed staff and ensures compliance with hospital policies.
Responsibilities- Must be able to work PRN Nights; 7p - 7a.
- Continuously assess patient needs through a holistic approach and communicate any changes in patient condition to physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Adjust treatment based on the multidisciplinary plan of care.
- Plan, deliver, coordinate, and evaluate therapeutic interventions based on the assessment process.
- Document interventions provided and supervise care delivery by unlicensed support staff.
- Provide patient and family education regarding disease process, treatment side effects, and health promotion.
- Offer support and reassurance to ensure informed decision‑making regarding the therapeutic plan.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and accrediting agencies; participate in policy development, review, and updating.
- Actively engage in the Performance Improvement plan of the unit to enhance patient care quality.
- Obtain patient medical history and medication information and document appropriately in the medical record.
- Verify and note physician orders, provide safe delivery of prescribed medications and treatments, and evaluate outcomes promptly.
- Current Georgia State Registered Nurse License required.
- BSN required or enrolled within 6 months of hire and completed within three years from hire date.
- Current BLS required (obtain AHA certificate within 30 days of hire).
- Current ACLS required (obtain AHA certificate within 30 days of hire).
- 1–3 years RN experience in a bedside care setting preferred.
- Oncology experience preferred.
- Recent ICU and/or step‑down experience preferred.
