Nurse Supervisor, Inpatient, FT Days
Supervisor of all aspects of the Inpatient Nursing Department, ensuring quality and efficiency in the delivery of patient care.
Responsibilities- Supervise all aspects of the Inpatient Nursing Department and collaborate regularly with leadership on administrative and operational activities.
- Assist with the development and execution of goals that support City of Hope’s mission and strategic plan.
- Collaborate and communicate with patients, management team, center stakeholders, medical staff, and hospital staff to enhance care quality and efficiency.
- Serve as a point of contact for inpatient management, promote best practices and quality of life standards.
- Ensure inpatient clinical coordination of care and services for all patients, treating them as whole persons in a compassionate environment.
- Ensure adherence to all state and federal regulatory requirements, as well as policies such as JCAHO, IDPH, QOPI.
- Ensure the successful candidate works 7:00am‑5:30pm Monday‑Thursday.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and coaching to inpatient nursing and clinical staff (RNs, LPNs, PCTs, and other stakeholders).
- Support hiring, onboarding, orientation, and preceptor assignment for new staff and assist with competency management and continuing education.
- Coordinate staffing, scheduling, and daily operations to ensure safe, efficient patient care and appropriate coverage.
- Serve as a role model for professionalism, teamwork, and service excellence aligned with organizational values.
- Deliver direct patient care as needed to support staffing during high census, absences, or unexpected situations.
- Promote patient‑centered care through effective communication, education, and responsiveness to patient and caregiver needs.
- Assist with the development and execution of inpatient goals, performance‑improvement initiatives, and monitoring of key performance indicators.
- Foster collaboration across departments, positively influence team culture, and address concerns constructively.
- Encourage continuous improvement, lean practices, professional growth, and ongoing staff development.
- Promote patient safety, manage variance reporting, and respond appropriately to safety events and disaster protocols.
- Current Georgia State Registered Nurse license required.
- BSN required or enrollment within 6months of hire and completion within 3years of hire.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (obtain within 30days of hire).
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required (obtain within 30days of hire).
- 2 to 3 years of experience in a similar role preferred.
- Previous management experience preferred.
- Oncology experience preferred.
