Position Overview
Evaluation and Treatment Center Advanced Practice Provider (PRN). Provide comprehensive, patient‑centered care for individuals with hematologic and oncologic malignancies, working collaboratively with physicians and the multidisciplinary care team at City of Hope.
Responsibilities- Conduct patient assessments and develop/manage treatment plans.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests.
- Manage treatment‑related symptoms.
- Provide patient and family education.
- Coordinate care and facilitate communication among interdisciplinary teams.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation, including histories and physicals, consults, follow‑up visits, patient education, and informed consents.
- Support quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with regulatory and professional standards.
Schedule and Availability
- Minimum of three shifts per quarter.
- Shift hours: 10 a.m.–6 p.m., Monday–Friday.
- Direct clinical support for inpatient services and act as key liaison between patients, physicians, clinicians, and the healthcare team.
Clinical Documentation and Management
- Enter and manage patient care orders in the electronic medical record (EMR), including medications, admissions, laboratory testing, imaging, IV fluids, and other treatments.
- Coordinate overall patient care, support efficient patient flow, and facilitate effective communication among patients, families, providers, and interdisciplinary teams.
Professional Development
- Maintain required licensure, certifications, and professional competencies.
- Participate in continuing education, training, meetings, and departmental initiatives.
- Support hospital and departmental goals through leadership, quality improvement activities, policy development, and other duties as assigned by the supervising physician or APP leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Current Georgia licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
- For Nurse Practitioners:
National Board Certification through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). - For Physician Assistants:
Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program and successful completion of the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination (PANCE) through NCCPA. - Current BLS and ACLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) (if obtained through another provider, AHA certification must be completed within 30 days of hire).
- Maintain required continuing medical education (CME) hours and professional certifications as required by the applicable licensing organization.
- Oncology nursing/clinical experience.
- Oncology certifications such as ONS Certification and/or Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse Practitioner (AOCNP).
