Registered Nurse, Pre Op and PACU, PRN

Responsibilities
  • Direct care of patients through the nursing process and collaboration with patients, families, and other health care professionals.
  • Provide leadership to non‑licensed staff by setting an example of excellence.
  • Work PRN/As Needed, 7a‑7:30p.
  • Plan, deliver, direct, coordinate, and evaluate therapeutic interventions based on assessment needs.
  • Document interventions provided.
  • Supervise care delivery by unlicensed support staff.
  • Provide education regarding disease processes, side effects of treatment, and health promotion.
  • Offer support and reassurance to ensure informed decisions regarding the therapeutic plan.
  • Document according to department standards.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies and accrediting agencies.
  • Participate in the development, review, and updating of policies and procedures.
  • Actively participate in the Performance Improvement plan of the unit.
  • Obtain allergy information and handle medication reconciliation with the patient or family member.
  • Communicate this information to other providers.
  • Verify and note physician orders.
  • Provide safe delivery of prescribed medications and treatments and evaluate outcomes in a timely manner.
Qualifications
  • Current Georgia State Registered Nurse license required.
  • BSN required or enrolled within 6months of hire and completed within 3years from hire date.
  • Current BLS required (obtain AHA certificate within 30days of hire).
  • Current ACLS required (obtain AHA certificate within 30days of hire).
  • Oncology experience preferred.
  • Recent ICU and/or OR experience preferred.
  • Experience caring for patients with invasive pressure lines desirable.
  • Experience caring for patients who are on mechanical ventilation desirable.
