Registered Nurse, Pre Op and PACU, PRN
Responsibilities- Direct care of patients through the nursing process and collaboration with patients, families, and other health care professionals.
- Provide leadership to non‑licensed staff by setting an example of excellence.
- Work PRN/As Needed, 7a‑7:30p.
- Plan, deliver, direct, coordinate, and evaluate therapeutic interventions based on assessment needs.
- Document interventions provided.
- Supervise care delivery by unlicensed support staff.
- Provide education regarding disease processes, side effects of treatment, and health promotion.
- Offer support and reassurance to ensure informed decisions regarding the therapeutic plan.
- Document according to department standards.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and accrediting agencies.
- Participate in the development, review, and updating of policies and procedures.
- Actively participate in the Performance Improvement plan of the unit.
- Obtain allergy information and handle medication reconciliation with the patient or family member.
- Communicate this information to other providers.
- Verify and note physician orders.
- Provide safe delivery of prescribed medications and treatments and evaluate outcomes in a timely manner.
- Current Georgia State Registered Nurse license required.
- BSN required or enrolled within 6months of hire and completed within 3years from hire date.
- Current BLS required (obtain AHA certificate within 30days of hire).
- Current ACLS required (obtain AHA certificate within 30days of hire).
- Oncology experience preferred.
- Recent ICU and/or OR experience preferred.
- Experience caring for patients with invasive pressure lines desirable.
- Experience caring for patients who are on mechanical ventilation desirable.
