Registered Nurse, PreOp and PACU, PRN

Responsibilities

• Work PRN/As Needed, 7am-7:30pm.
• Direct the care of the patient through the nursing process and collaborate with the patient, their family and other health care professionals.
• Plan, deliver, direct, coordinate, and evaluate therapeutic interventions based on needs identified in the assessment process.
• Document interventions provided.
• Supervise care delivery by unlicensed support staff.
• Provide education regarding disease processes, side effects of treatment, and health promotion.
• Offer support and reassurance to ensure informed decisions are made regarding the individual's therapeutic plan.
• Document according to department standards.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and accrediting agencies.
• Participate in the development, review, and updating of policies and procedures.
• Actively participate in the Performance Improvement plan of the unit.
• Obtain allergy information and handle medication reconciliation with the patient or family member.
• Communicate this information to other providers.
• Verify and note physician orders.
• Provide safe delivery of prescribed medications and treatments, and evaluate outcomes in a timely manner.

• Current Georgia State Registered Nurse License required.
• BSN required or enrolled within 6 months of hire and BSN completed within three years from hire date.
• Current BLS required (Obtain AHA certificate within 30 days of hire).
• Current ACLS required (Obtain AHA certificate within 30 days of hire).
• Oncology experience preferred.
• Recent ICU and/or OR experience preferred.
• Experience in caring for patients with invasive pressure lines desirable.
• Experience in caring for patients who are on mechanical ventilation desirable.
