The Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) works collaboratively with the supervising physician to provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care for oncology and surgical patients.
- Performing patient assessments

- Conducting physical examinations
- Participating in daily rounds
- Developing and implementing treatment plans
- Ordering appropriate medications, laboratory studies, diagnostic tests, therapeutic interventions, and supportive care services
- Evaluating patient conditions, communicating clinical changes to the supervising physician, and serving as a key liaison between patients, families, nursing staff, and the multidisciplinary care team to ensure coordinated, high-quality care

- Supporting cancer surveillance and perioperative care
- Facilitating referrals to appropriate healthcare resources
- Responding appropriately to urgent or emergent patient care situations

The successful candidate:
Must be able to work FT;
Monday-Friday 8:00a-5:00p. Provide direct clinical support for the inpatient unit, serving as the primary liaison between patients, clinicians, and interdisciplinary care teams to ensure continuity of care. Collaborate with referring and supervising physicians to assess patient needs, determine appropriate interventions, and serve as a clinical resource to the care team. Enter and manage patient orders within the electronic medical record (EMR), including medications, admissions, laboratory testing, diagnostic imaging, IV fluids, and other treatment-related orders in accordance with hospital policies, state regulations, and scope of practice.
Complete timely, accurate, and comprehensive clinical documentation, including history and physical examinations (H&Ps), consult notes, progress notes, and follow-up documentation. Conduct patient evaluations, participate in consultative services, provide patient and family education, and obtain informed consent as appropriate. Coordinate and facilitate patient care across the continuum, enhancing communication, patient flow, and collaboration among physicians, nursing staff, and other stakeholders. Support clinical operations and provide coverage or assistance in other clinical areas as needed to meet patient care and departmental needs.
Maintain all required professional licenses, certifications, and continuing education requirements. Participate in onboarding, training, professional development initiatives, and departmental meetings to support team and organizational goals.
