Job Summary

By joining our BV Construction group, you will have the opportunity to develop and enhance your skills in an on‑site, hands‑on environment. We are committed to providing our construction professionals with expert training, career development, and career advancement to allow for continuous professional development. Functions in our group include safety, project field management, construction management, quality control, start‑up and decommissioning, and field engineering.

Implement and maintain project quality plans and procedures. Act as an interface between project sites, procurement inspections, corporate offices, and clients. Manage site QC staff on assigned project sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish, implement, and maintain site quality program
  • Coordinate with engineers, suppliers, subcontractors, regulatory representatives and field to ensure work is done correctly the first time
  • Assure work on site meets applicable codes and specifications
  • Surveillance and audits of site contractor quality control programs
  • Responsible for all aspects of electrical and instrumentation installation inspections
  • Establish inspection plan and track inspections and actions identified
  • Review and control documentation for certification of construction equipment and testing equipment
  • Review turnover packages prior to handoff to startup
  • Assist in the coordination of punch‑list walk‑downs/inspections; establish and manage the punch‑list
  • Collate quality control documentation for final handover to owner
  • Interface with clients and government officials
  • Develop and implement quality programs that assist projects and division to meet company and division quality goals and expectations
  • Act as quality consultant for internal and external clients, if required
  • Act as temporary project fill‑in for lower‑level quality professionals, if required
  • Provide supervision, training, development, and performance management of direct reports
  • Mentor other quality professionals
  • Implement safety, quality, ethical standards, and lessons learned, and adhere to performance management programs in accordance with division policies, standards, and guidelines
  • Support continuous improvement efforts and change management associated with implementation of improvements
  • Individual contributor with no subordinates
  • Supervise work of others
  • Responsible for hiring, discipline, and pay administration of subordinates, including site QC inspectors and site QC representatives (technicians, specialists)
Preferred Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Engineering, quality, business, or construction management degree or craft apprenticeship preferred
  • Previous electrical QC inspection experience
  • Previous instrumentation controls QC experience
  • Previous experience on conventional generation facilities (a plus)
Minimum Qualifications

Experience:

  • 3+ years as superintendent with degree, or 5+ years without
  • All applicants must be able to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements; may include criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search in compliance with applicable laws and regulations
