About the Role
The Quality Engineer II is an experienced individual contributor who independently executes quality engineering activities supporting manufacturing operations and product transfer. You'll apply established engineering principles, regulatory knowledge, and structured problem-solving methods to ensure compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS), applicable standards, and Yokogawa manufacturing requirements.

What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities)
Quality Planning, Controls & Compliance
* Develop, implement, and maintain quality plans, inspection criteria, and control strategies across assigned product lines.
* Ensure manufacturing processes and products comply with Yokogawa quality standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.
* Create, maintain, and improve quality procedures, work instructions, and quality records.
Audits & Certifications
* Conduct internal audits in accordance with ISO 9001 and Yokogawa QMS requirements.
* Support external audits and certifications (e.g., DEKRA/ATEX, CSA, FM, Intertek, UL).
* Represent Quality during audits, reviews, and cross-functional meetings.
Nonconformance, MRB & Corrective Actions
* Initiate and manage Nonconforming Material Reports (NMRs), Corrective Action Requests (CARs), and MRB activities.
* Lead investigations and corrective actions for quality issues using structured methodologies; ensure actions are timely and effective.
* Coordinate customer complaint investigations and drive resolution through root cause and corrective actions.
Metrics, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
* Analyze and report quality performance metrics, including defect rates and Pass-Through Rate (PTR).
* Provide technical quality guidance to manufacturing, engineering, and operations teams to prevent recurrence and improve outcomes.
Supplier Quality & Risk Management
* Evaluate supplier quality performance through audits, assessments, and data analysis.
* Exercise stop-work authority when quality or compliance is at risk.
* Support workplace safety investigations related to quality or process deviations.
Success Measures (How Performance is Evaluated)
* Demonstrated compliance to QMS/ISO requirements and successful performance in internal/external audits
* Reduction in defects and improved PTR through effective controls and corrective actions
* Timely, high-quality closure of NMR/CAR/MRB activities and customer complaint investigations
* Strong cross-functional partnership and quality leadership influence across assigned product lines
What You Bring (Qualifications)
Education & Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering plus minimum 4 years of related experience.
* Proven experience in manufacturing quality engineering, including ISO-based QMS, auditing, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and regulatory compliance.
* Six Sigma certification or training preferred.

* Works independently on routine and moderately complex quality engineering assignments.
* Recognized as a subject-matter contributor within the quality discipline; provides guidance/informal mentoring to junior engineers or inspectors.
* Escalates complex or high-risk issues appropriately to senior engineers or management.
