Overview

Job Summary: Under the supervision of the General Manager, the Golf Shop Assistant performs / is responsible for providing friendly and excellent customer service to all customers and guests that require assistance in the scheduling of or the purchasing of tee times, soft and hard good purchases and responding to a large variety of business related inquiries.

• Knowledge of day-to-day business operations at all other buildings (Range, Club House, and Maintenance)
• Basic knowledge of operation of a Point of Sale system.
• Knowledge of golf merchandise and its merits and benefits to the golfer at any level of play.
• Must adhere to all State and Federal laws and regulations report improper or illegal conduct to Supervisor or Management
• Determine and enforce required age for renting and driving motor carts
• Full command of English language

• Ability to lift and carry 15-20 lbs. (stock)
• Ability to work harmoniously in a close work space
• Available to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time (6-8 hours)

• Provide friendly, professional service to all co-workers, customers & guests.
• Ability to converse on the telephone in a professional and courteous manner responding to all questions personally or directing to responsible others for handling.
• Protect the assets of the company. This includes vigilance in the handling of monies and Company inventory.
• Maintain confidentiality in the handling of all employees and customers' personal and financial data, including, but not limited to their name, address, credit card information and expenditure totals.
• Ability to multi-task, remain poised and be positive in a fast paced work environment.
• Arrive to scheduled work location at scheduled time well-groomed and neatly dressed in accordance with Company policy.
• Operate all computer systems as needed to perform duties.
• Maintain a solid understanding of the basics of golf operations.
• Maintain the shop merchandise in a neat, clean and organized way.
• Attractively present shop merchandise.
• Ability to handle customer complaints with professionalism and the ability to assess a matter in order to make the decision to push the matter forward to senior management for handling.
