. As the Accounting Manager

, you ensure financial accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting across multiple channels, including commissions, digital marketing expenses, and service provider payments. The Accounting Manager will work closely with our Director of Accounting and external teams to monitor and streamline financial operations.

As the Accounting Manager
for Smarter Home.ai, you will be:

  • Maintaining and updating general ledger accounts by reconciling transactions and posting entries.
  • Ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
  • Monitoring and reviewing financial transactions for accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Preparing and maintaining financial statements, reports, and summaries on a regular basis.
  • Collaborate with external accounting teams to ensure seamless reconciliation of commissions and payments to affiliates, digital marketing partners, and service providers.
  • Monitor commission structures for dealers and affiliates to ensure accuracy in payouts.
  • Overseeing accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, billing, and collections.
  • Reviewing and approving payment batches, ensuring timely and accurate disbursement of funds.
  • Coordinating with vendors, suppliers, and clients to resolve payment discrepancies and inquiries.
  • Monitoring cash flow and assisting in cash management activities.
  • Preparing and presenting financial reports to Director of Accounting and executive team, highlighting key metrics and areas for improvement.
  • Assisting in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support decision-making processes.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and tax requirements.
  • Assisting in preparing documentation and supporting schedules for audits and tax filings.
  • Implement internal controls and procedures to safeguard financial assets and mitigate risks.
  • Providing guidance training, and mentorship to accounting department staff.
  • Supervising and reviewing the work of accounting department staff, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting principles.
  • Fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment to promote professional development and growth.
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains in accounting operations.

For the position of Accounting Manager, we are looking for someone with the following qualifications, skills, and education level:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • CPA or equivalent certification is a plus.
  • Proven experience in AR, AP, and reconciliation management.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with external and internal teams.
  • Experience in a commission-based or service provider environment is preferred.
  • Experience in digital marketing, lead tracking systems, and CRM tools.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Problem-solving mindset and willingness to take initiative.
  • Willing to partake in a Background Check.
