We are seeking a Senior Financial Reporting Analyst II to join our centralized accounting and financial reporting team in Newport Beach, CA. In this role you will support accounting and financial reporting for the Consumer Markets divisional products, working within a team of insurance accounting subject‑matter experts in the Enterprise Accounting and Reporting group.

• Execute quarterly accounting and reporting tasks, including processing, reviewing, and approving journal entries, reconciliations, and analysis of results to ensure completeness and accuracy of account balances.
• Prepare and review quarterly and annual GAAP and statutory financial statements, and respond to compliance and management requests.
• Coordinate with subject‑matter experts and business partners in actuarial, accounting, reporting, tax, financial planning & analysis, and technology teams.
• Validate that specific business events are accurately represented in our accounting results.
• Understand and communicate key drivers of financial results to stakeholders, including fluctuation analysis and presentation of quarterly results to management.
• Support finance transformation initiatives, such as automating manual processes and redesigning accounting close activities.
• Lead functional teams or projects when needed.
• Apply accounting and financial reporting principles, insurance knowledge, and general business acumen.
• Proactively learn relevant systems, products, and business models, and share knowledge with peers.

• 8+ years of experience in a related field.
• 4‑year accounting degree or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities under tight time frames.
• Strong technical, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently in a deadline‑driven environment.
• Strong accountability, customer focus, collaboration, and teamwork.
• Comfortable collaborating with all levels of management.
• Desire to mentor colleagues with less experience.

• Insurance industry experience.
• Experience or certification with People Soft, Oracle, Appian, Essbase, WDesk, or ARCs.
• CPA candidacy or licensure.
• Public accounting experience.

• Base pay range: $ - $ (subject to experience, qualifications, and location).
