Billing Specialist - Hybrid

Location: Hybrid – Oakland or Newport Beach, CA

Salary: Up to $90,000 Base + Comprehensive Benefits

We are seeking an experienced Billing Specialist to join a growing California law firm. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in legal billing
, accounts receivable, and trust accounting while thriving in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This role is responsible for managing the full billing cycle, ensuring accurate invoicing, maintaining client trust accounts, and supporting attorneys and the accounting team.

• Manage the full legal billing cycle, including pre-bills, billing edits, and final invoices.
• Review attorney time entries for accuracy and compliance with billing guidelines.
• Process client invoices, payments, retainers, and trust account transactions.
• Monitor Accounts Receivable and follow up on outstanding balances.
• Prepare billing reports, A/R aging reports, and financial reconciliations.
• Handle billing inquiries from attorneys and clients professionally.
• Coordinate with the accounting team on month-end billing and financial reporting.

• 2+ years of legal billing experience in a law firm.
• Experience managing the complete legal billing cycle.
• Knowledge of trust accounting (IOLTA) and legal billing best practices.
• Experience with Accounts Receivable and collections.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

The annual salary for this position is between [$80,000 – $90,000 annually]. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
