Family Office Associate at Canterbury Consulting

A Family Office Associate provides comprehensive support across a variety of functions within the advisory firm. This role typically assists senior advisors and managers in day-to-day operations, account administration, and client communications. By serving as a link between clients and the firm, the Family Office Associate ensures that family needs are addressed promptly, maintains confidential records, and supports the smooth delivery of personalized, high‑touch service characteristic of family office environments.

The Family Office Associate at Canterbury Consulting is a critical part of our clients’ success and is a challenging and rewarding role for the right individual.

The primary responsibilities are:
  • Administer the implementation of client portfolio rebalances for our family office clients.
  • Be a primary point of contact for all client custodian relationships and with money managers.
  • Prepare manager documentation as required for rebalancing; including subscriptions, additions and redemptions.
  • Prepare custodial documentation as required for rebalancing; including new account applications, trading authorizations and wire transfers.
  • Acts as a primary point of contact with all client custodians and money managers.
  • Process daily operational workflow and ensure the quality, accuracy and integrity of the workflow process.
  • Act as a liaison between custodians and our clients and interact frequently and professionally with other members of the Canterbury team.
  • Serve as a key member of a dedicated team focused on providing exceptional service to family office clients.
  • Demonstrate a passion for self‑starting, proactively identifying and addressing client needs without the need for constant direction.
  • Ask insightful and detailed questions to gain a deep understanding of each family’s unique planning requirements and goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required

Skills & Qualifications Experience
  • 3+ years of client service or back‑office support at a banking institution, money management, or RIA (Registered Investment Advisor) firm.
  • Proven track record in high‑pressure, dynamic environments.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree; preferably in Finance and Economics.
Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and project management tools.
  • Familiarity with virtual collaboration platforms (Teams, Zoom).
