Physician Assistant: Vascular Surgery -Newport , CA

Hoag Health, the top-ranked health system in Orange County, CA is seeking a full time, Physician Assistant to join our growing Vascular Surgery program! Our program is growing rapidly and we are expanding out beautiful Hoag Irvine Hospital campus. The Hoag Jeffrey M. Carlton Heart & Vascular Institute at Hoag Health is pioneering world-class care in our community. The program is involved in multiple clinical trials and is often a site for new technologies as multiple leading biotech companies are headquartered or have a strong presence in Orange County, CA. We are also expanding, with a new hospital being completed in Irvine, CA in 2026!

• Schedule:
  
  Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
• Outpatient role with occasional inpatient duties including rounding and first assist support

Duties:

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical histories and physical examinations.
• Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
• Administer medications and perform procedures such as phlebotomy and dermabrasion.
• Provide health coaching to patients, educating them on lifestyle changes and wellness strategies.
• Suturing, closing, retracting. Sclerotherapy experience preferred but not required
• Participate in discharge planning for patients leaving the hospital, ensuring continuity of care.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation, including medical coding for billing purposes.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Vascular Surgery PA or 2 years of experience
• Active CA Physician Assistant License in good standing
• Graduate from an accredited PA program
• Vascular and /or surgical experience highly preferred but not required
• Experience with Epic EMR preferred
• Experience working in a hospital setting is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills for effective patient interaction and education.
