Role:Signal Integrity - Engineer/Sr. Engineer
MACOM's High Performance Connectivity business unit is looking for a talented Signal Integrity Engineer/Sr. Engineer. In this capacity, the primary focus of this role will be to work on network analysis and design through simulation and characterization (including correlation) with measurements.
Job Requirements:- Perform detailed modeling and electrical analysis of silicon-to-silicon physical interconnects. This covers all aspectsof the physical interconnect in a system context, including die chip-on-board(COB) interfaces, chip-scale to large-scale packaging, passive connectors andrelated components, as well as multi-conductor transmission lines.
- Define and carry out experiments to validate modeling methodologies and to establish correlation of such toempirical data.
- As part of device-level modeling efforts,create, verify, and document IBIS-AMI models for external customer use.
- Focus as needed on MACOM device design-inwithin customer hardware, with emphasis on physical design to achieveelectrical performance characteristics required. Activities include detailed reviews, modeling and analysis, as well as physical design guidance.
- BS in EE and a minimum of 2 years of experience. Candidates with more advanced degrees including PhD and/or more experience are preferred. Coursework emphasis should be within Signal Integrity discipline, or microwaves/RF and electromagnetics.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are required. An understanding of basic circuit and transmission line theory is essential, as is familiarity with and a working knowledge of concurrent time and frequency-domain methods of analysis and characterization. In addition, the knowledge and experience with use of vector network analyzers is paramount.
- Programming familiarity is desired with languages such as Python, Matlab, and C++/C#.
- A working knowledge of circuit simulation tools such as Agilent's ADS (or Ansys' Designer) is desired. Practical experience with 3D electro-magnetic field simulators such as Ansys’ HFSS is required, with expectation to create usable models with 3 dB bandwidths in the 70-110 GHz range.
- Desired candidate must have a solid understanding of the scientific method and have adequate experience setting up experiments, and collecting measurement data using mainstream equipment used for characterizing high speed serial links, both electrical and optical.
The Salary Range for this position is $84,000 – $136,000. Actual salary offered to candidate will depend on several factors, including but not limited to, work location, relevant candidates’ experience, education, and specific knowledge, skills, and abilities.
