Applications Engineer – PrincipalOur customer applications require high speed (GHz) ICs for optical media access and signal transport. These applications are characterized by international development, fast design cycles, and demanding analog performance.
Specific Responsibilities:- Specialize in MACOM’s High-Performance Analog ICs and their specific applications. Provide expert level engineering support to customers, sales, FAEs, and marketing. Work with design engineering to produce product documentation and applications collateral.
- As a product specialist, solve challenging problems through analysis and hands‑on lab work.
Skills:
- BSEE or similar degree and 10 years of experience in a related position required.
- MSEE degree is preferred or equivalent experience.
- Experience building 100G and 200G QSFP
28 Single Mode and Multi-Mode optical transmission modules and associated standards is required. - Ability to work in a team environment and strong communication skills are essential.
- Experience with high performance analog applications is required.
- Background in Design, Product, Evaluation, or Test Engineering in a mixed‑signal or analog environment is considered beneficial to a successful candidate.
- Lab experience including advanced test and measurement instruments such as sampling and real‑time oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, Optical Spectrum analyzer and Bit Error testers.
- Proven track record on test measurements, data analysis and condense results to support Marketing, Sales and Customers is required.
- Experience building optical transmission module and associated standards is required. Optical Spectrum analyzer.
The Salary Range for this position is $97,900 – 166,700. Actual salary offered to candidates will depend on several factors, including but not limited to, work location, relevant candidates’ experience, education, and specific knowledge, skills, and abilities.
This position is eligible to receive restricted stock unit (RSU) awards and cash bonuses, solely at MACOM’s discretion, subject to individual and company performance.
