Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Project Engineer/Geologist to lead complex environmental site assessment and remediation projects. This individual will be responsible for technical leadership, project management, and strategic client engagement. The ideal candidate has a strong background in environmental engineering, regulatory compliance, and field operations, with a passion for delivering high-quality, science-driven results. This is a full-time position located in our Newport Beach, CA office.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the planning, design, and implementation of environmental site assessments.
- Design and implement remedial techniques including but not limited to, in-situ chemical injections, soil vapor extraction, and/or air sparging.
- Design and implement vapor mitigation systems including vapor barriers and sub-slab depressurization systems.
- Manage project teams and subcontractors, ensuring timely and on-budget delivery.
- Develop remedial action plans, technical reports, and regulatory submittals in compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines.
- Maintain strong client relationships through effective communication, problem-solving, and project delivery.
- Mentor junior staff and support their professional development.
- Participate in business development activities, including proposal writing and client presentations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience in environmental consulting with a focus on assessment and remediation.
- Experience working with the Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB), the Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC), and local oversight agencies.
- Strong project management experience with the ability to manage budgets, timelines, and deliverables.
- Excellent technical writing, communication, and analytical skills.
- Experience with modeling and remediation design tools a plus.
- Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses - $100k to $180k compensation range.
