Position Summary
We are seeking a Senior PCB Design Layout Engineer with extensive hands-on experience in high-quality printed circuit board (PCB) design and layout. This role is responsible for creating complex PCB layouts, collaborating with electrical and mechanical engineering teams, and ensuring designs meet manufacturability, signal integrity, and reliability requirements.
A formal degree is preferred but not required. Candidates with strong practical experience and demonstrated expertise in PCB layout will be strongly considered.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop complex multilayer PCB layouts for high-speed and mixed-signal electronics.
- Translate electrical schematics into fully manufacturable PCB designs.
- Collaborate with electrical engineers to optimize layout for signal integrity, power integrity, EMI/EMC, and thermal performance.
- Work closely with mechanical engineers to ensure proper board fit and enclosure compatibility.
- Develop and maintain PCB design libraries, footprints, and layout standards.
- Generate manufacturing outputs including Gerbers, ODB++, fabrication drawings, and assembly documentation.
- Interface with PCB fabrication and assembly vendors to resolve DFM/DFA issues.
- Perform design reviews and ensure adherence to company and industry design standards.
- Support prototype builds, debugging, and design improvements.
- Mentor junior PCB designers and help establish best practices.
- 7+ years of PCB layout design experience
- Expertise with industry PCB CAD tools such as:
- Cadence Allegro
- Mentor Graphics / Siemens Xpedition
- Or equivalent
- Experience with:
- Controlled impedance routing
- Strong understanding of DFM, DFA, and DFT
- Ability to work directly with PCB fabrication and assembly vendors
- Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills
- Experience with RF, high-speed interfaces (DDR, PCIe, USB, Ethernet), or mixed-signal designs
- Knowledge of signal integrity analysis tools
- Familiarity with IPC standards (IPC-2221, IPC-7351, IPC-A-600)
- Experience supporting prototype bring-up and debugging
- Previous experience mentoring or leading PCB design efforts
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field preferred
- Equivalent hands-on PCB design experience will be considered in place of a degree
Full time – In office - Not remote
Salary Range: $125,000 – $175,000 per year (depending on experience and qualifications)
