Position Summary

The Manager, Quality Assurance is responsible for the administrative execution of field workflows, data management, and system governance within the Capital Projects group. This role oversees the daily administration of Quality Assurance (QA) systems to ensure that Architect(s), Engineer(s), General Contractor(s), and internal teams are properly trained and utilizing company platforms. The Manager maintains the proprietary cost database, supports detailed scope and bid analysis, and participates in the review of repair documents to drive value engineering and systems compliance.

This role serves as the critical link between field execution and Company quality standards.

Responsibilities
  • Directs the setup, maintenance, and user training of QA systems by establishing reporting protocols for Architect(s) of Record (AOR), Engineer(s) of Record (EOR), General Contractors (GC), and Construction Managers to ensure system protocols and reporting requirements.
  • Manages the daily operations of the proprietary cost database by validating project data and historical metrics to identify cost trends and support high-level budget planning.
  • Executes detailed scope reviews and contractor bid leveling by identifying exclusions or inconsistencies in proposals and providing questions to the bidders for as well as feedback to the Project and Construction Managers.
  • Conducts reviews of construction documents by evaluating cost optimization and to identify value engineering opportunities during the preconstruction phase.
  • Reviews the administrative and contractual scope of third-party consultants proposals and deliverables to ensure consultants scope is in alignment with the quality assurance systems and procedures.
  • Participates in 50% and 90% site walks by validating the successful integration of QA systems in the field from active projects to update pre-construction data and refine future scope documents.
Additional Skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Smartsheet (workflows/automations) and Google Workspace (Sheets/Docs) is critical.
  • Strong capability in bid leveling, quantity take-offs, and scope definition.
  • Comprehensive understanding of construction contracts, general conditions, and consultant agreements.
  • Demonstrated ability to train internal and external teams on complex software tools and technical processes.
Preferred Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering or Construction Management.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Preferred Years of Relevant Work Experience
  • 5-8 years’ experience in multi-family construction.
  • Demonstrated history of working as a technical specialist or quality control professional.
Additional Requirements
  • Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 10 certification required.
  • Valid California driver’s license. This role requires the regular and frequent operation of a vehicle, as defined in the Company’s MVR policy, and is part of the essential duties of this position. (Must maintain continuous vehicle liability insurance as required by state law).
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing

Base Pay Range: $ - $. Actual placement within this range may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.
