Sr Network Engineer

Position Overview

Senior Network Engineer – Hybrid (Newport Beach, CA or Omaha, NE)

• Implement products, platforms, software, hardware, or appliance‑based solutions related to network and network security.
• Interface with management and vendors to develop and implement new solutions that meet business requirements.
• Design and manage the rollout of network infrastructures, including capacity planning, performance tuning, and configuration optimization.
• Perform network maintenance and system upgrades, including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations.
• Maintain network security across the global enterprise, analyze networks for threats, and monitor for breaches and violations.
• Use network tools for administration, maintenance, automation, and visualization reporting.
• Develop technical documentation describing deployment, configuration, and management of network infrastructure.
• Participate in IT security audits, respond to audit findings, and ensure required controls are implemented.
• Build strong relationships outside of IT to understand business needs.
• Communicate complex technical details in a clear manner to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Advocate for end‑users and stakeholders by empathizing with and understanding user needs.
• Work flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, as required.

• Minimum 7 years of experience in IT, configuring and installing network devices and services (routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS).
• Advanced technical skills with L2/L3 protocols and technologies: IPSec, DMVPN, BGP, OSPF, VPC, QoS, 802.1x.
• Familiarity with Cisco IOS, IOS‑XE and NX‑OS.
• Experience with platforms such as Net Scaler, F5, Riverbed, Palo Alto, and Cisco (Catalyst, ISR, ASR, Nexus, ASA/FTD). Cisco ACI is a plus.
• Understanding of open‑source monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance analysis tools.
• Excellent communication, problem‑solving skills, and attention to detail.
• One or more of the following certifications:
  Cisco CCNP, Cisco CCIE.
• B.S. or M.S. in Engineering and/or Computer Science or equivalent experience.

Newport Beach, CA: $135,000 – $165,000 per year
Omaha, NE: $116,000 – $141,000 per year (salary based on experience, qualifications, and location).
Additional incentive pay may be available.
