Senior Surveyor
Omega Subsea is experiencing increased project activity and is seeking Senior Surveyors to support our growing offshore operations. This role is responsible for leading offshore survey activities and supporting the Survey Party Chief in the execution and delivery of survey projects.
Working closely with offshore survey teams, ROV personnel, project teams, and clients, the Senior Surveyor will be responsible for survey operations, data quality, reporting, and onboard coordination. The role also acts as the primary survey team lead during opposite shifts or in the absence of the Survey Party Chief.
The position is offshore-based.
Key Responsibilities- Support and lead offshore survey operations onboard vessels and project spreads.
- Act as the primary Omega survey team lead in the absence of the Survey Party Chief.
- Configure, test, and maintain survey sensors and online systems.
- Monitor survey data acquisition and ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Perform calibrations of positioning and navigation systems.
- Troubleshoot survey equipment and support technical issue resolution onboard.
- Maintain onboard data management and reporting in line with Omega standards.
- Coordinate with offshore and onshore survey teams, project personnel, and clients.
- Support development and mentoring of junior survey personnel.
- Ensure compliance with Omega Subsea HSEQ procedures and offshore safety standards.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in a senior offshore survey role.
- Technical background within hydrography, positioning, or related disciplines.
- Strong understanding of offshore survey operations, positioning systems, and survey workflows.
- Experience with survey software such as EIVA, Sonardyne, Exail, or equivalent.
- Experience with survey reporting, calibration, and offshore data acquisition.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Valid offshore certifications including BOSIET/FOET and Offshore Medical.
- Motivating, proactive, and solution-oriented.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Comfortable working in demanding offshore environments.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively within offshore teams.
