Position Overview

Public Credit Research Analyst – Director level.

Location:

Newport Beach, CA (relocation assistance may be provided).

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct and communicate fundamental credit research on investment grade and high‑yield corporate credits.
  • Make buy/sell/hold recommendations for inclusion in the company’s General Account.
  • Demonstrate expertise in the analysis of regional banks.
  • Work closely with the senior bank analyst and the Public Credit Analysis and Portfolio Management teams to determine the best opportunities for the portfolio.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with sell‑side analysts, credit rating agencies, and other information providers.
Required Qualifications
  • 7+ years of investment research experience, with at least 2 years focused on the regional bank sector.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Ability to analyze and model financial metrics and business strategies.
  • Understanding of bank regulation and capital requirements.
  • Knowledge of financial markets and products.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with financial databases such as Bloomberg.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to convey complex subjects clearly and concisely.
  • Passion for a career in fixed‑income investing and intellectual curiosity to delve into industry topics.
  • MBA or CFA designation.
Benefits

Base pay range: $184,680 – $225,720, plus incentive pay. Additional benefits include medical, dental, vision, and wellbeing reimbursement; paid time off, holiday schedules, financial planning time off; paid parental leave and adoption assistance program; and a competitive 401(k) savings plan with company match and additional contribution.
