Job Overview

Senior Relationship Manager – BMO Pacific Rim Division. The role focuses on building and growing a portfolio of commercial clients with strong Pacific Rim connections. Success requires a proven sales track record, robust COI network, commercial credit expertise, and the ability to structure complex lending solutions while delivering exceptional client experiences.

Responsibilities
  • Act as an escalation point for complex client issues, using strategic problem‑solving to resolve conflicts and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Structure complex deals and secure credit approvals, collaborating with internal stakeholders and external partners to optimize revenue.
  • Develop new business by contacting prospects and clients, and cross‑sell banking products and services (credit, trust/investment, cash management).
  • Review loan applications and cash management agreements to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with risk‑management standards.
  • Develop market strategies aligned with business goals, identifying opportunities and expanding client portfolios.
  • Identify key market segments and leverage industry trends to drive business growth and enhance client base.
  • Represent BMO at industry forums and conferences, providing insights on trends, competition, and emerging products.
  • Engage with senior leadership and cross‑functional teams to align strategies, address client needs, and drive holistic business solutions.
  • Prepare reports on team performance, client satisfaction, and market trends for senior executives, offering insights and recommendations.
  • Build and maintain long‑term relationships with high‑value and strategic clients, providing strategic advice and ensuring exceptional service.
  • Negotiate high‑value transactions, noting opportunities for cross‑selling.
  • Analyze market trends, client industry developments, and competitive positioning to inform client solution strategies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to define products, solutions, and strategies that best fit client needs.
  • Identify share‑of‑wallet opportunities and use analysis tools to evaluate client returns proactively.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, internal controls, and compliance policies in all relationship‑management activities.
  • Work independently and handle non‑routine situations, exercising sound judgment and risk‑informed decision‑making.
  • Accept broader responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in Relationship Management, Account Management, or Portfolio Management within corporate or segmented banking environments, with demonstrated sales metrics.
  • Bachelor’s degree required (Business Administration, Finance, Accounting preferred). Other related disciplines or equivalent experience considered.
  • Credit‑qualifiable roles: meet credit portfolio requirements and qualification standards.
  • Deep knowledge and technical proficiency gained through extensive education and business experience.
Proficiency Levels
  • Advanced:
    Product Knowledge, Regulatory Compliance, Structuring Deals, Portfolio Management, Credit Risk Assessment, Project Management, Customer Service, Problem Solving, Negotiation, Customer Relationship Building.
  • Expert:
    Financial Analysis.
Compensation

Salary: $88,800.00 – $ (Salaried). The range may vary based on location, skills, experience, and may include a commission structure.
