As a valued member of our executive leadership team, the Vice President of Finance is a strategic, results-driven financial leader responsible for driving the financial health, growth, and long-term sustainability of the organization. This role provides executive oversight of all financial functions, including financial planning and analysis, accounting, budgeting, treasury management, risk management, compliance, and strategic business planning. The VP of Finance serves as a trusted advisor to the CEO and leadership team, leveraging deep industry expertise in trucking, concrete, and ready-mix operations to optimize financial performance, support strategic initiatives, and maximize shareholder value.
SupervisoryResponsibilities
- Provides leadership, direction, and development for accounting and finance.
- Oversees the accounting and finance department staffing, performance management, succession planning, and professional development.
- Builds and maintains a high-performing finance organization aligned with company objectives.
- Lead the development and execution of the organization's financial strategy in support of business growth and operational excellence.
- Provide strategic financial guidance and recommendations to executive leadership regarding business planning, investments, acquisitions, capital expenditures, and growth opportunities.
- Direct the preparation and presentation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, management reports, and key performance indicators.
- Oversee the annual budgeting process, long-range financial planning, forecasting, and scenario analysis.
- Establish financial goals and performance metrics that align with organizational objectives.
- Manage the company's cash flow, liquidity, debt structure, banking relationships, and capital resources.
- Lead financial modeling and analysis to support strategic decision-making and operational improvement initiatives.
- Ensure the integrity of financial reporting through effective internal controls, financial policies, and procedures.
- Oversee all accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and general ledger operations.
- Direct tax planning and compliance activities, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.
- Manage relationships with external auditors, financial institutions, insurance providers, and regulatory agencies.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate financial, operational, and strategic risks.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including financial system enhancements, process automation, and reporting efficiencies.
- Partner with operational leaders to evaluate profitability, pricing strategies, cost management opportunities, and capital investment decisions.
- Monitor industry trends and market conditions to identify opportunities and risks affecting business performance.
- Support mergers, acquisitions, business expansions, and other strategic initiatives as applicable.
- Present financial results and strategic recommendations to executive leadership, ownership, and key stakeholders.
- Collaborate with department leaders to improve financial literacy and accountability across the organization.
- Support organizational change initiatives through financial analysis and strategic planning.
- Represent the company in industry, banking, and community relationships as appropriate.
- Mentor and develop future finance leaders within the organization.

This is a full-time executive leadership position. General days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, with additional evening and weekend work required as business needs dictate. This position is not eligible for remote work.
Travel RequiredOccasional to moderate travel as required for business operations, financial reviews, banking relationships, acquisitions, industry events, and leadership meetings.
