This is an excellent opportunity for a mid-level project manager (4-6 years of experience) with strong technical acumen in web/application development environments to make a tangible impact in the financial services sector!
POSITION TITLEIT Project Manager
POSITION SUMMARYThe IT Project Manager will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of projects focused on enhancing our proprietary database system. You will serve as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders and our outsourced development partner to ensure high-quality, on-time, and on-budget delivery. Over time, this role will expand to champion initiatives that significantly increase automation (e.g., workflow streamlining, ETL processes, scheduled tasks) and analytics capabilities (e.g., advanced reporting on our sales data)
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES- Lead end-to-end project management for database enhancements, feature development, bug fixes, performance optimizations, and infrastructure-related upgrades in collaboration with our outsourced software development team.
- Develop detailed project plans, timelines, milestones, resource allocation, and budgets; track progress and ensure alignment with business priorities and regulatory requirements common in financial services.
- Facilitate effective communication and coordination between internal teams and our external development team
- Drive continuous improvement in development processes, with a focus on increasing automation and expanding analytics capabilities (e.g., better data extraction, visualization tools, integration with BI/analytics platforms).
- 4-6 years of hands-on experience as an IT Project Manager, Technical Project Manager, or similar role, ideally in software development, database projects, or financial/regulated industries.
- Proven track record managing projects involving outsourced/offshore/nearshore development teams.
- Strong understanding of web application development life cycles and familiarity with the following technologies (or similar stacks): PHP & Laravel framework, Nginx web server, Ubuntu Linux environment, Postgre
SQL database. - Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies (certifications such as PMP, CSM, or PMI-ACP are a plus but not required).
- Demonstrated success in delivering projects that improve automation (e.g., scripting, process orchestration) and/or analytics/reporting capabilities.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills; ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences and business needs for technical teams.
- Proactive mindset with a focus on process improvement and long-term platform evolution.
- PREFFERED
SKILLS:
Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Slack/Teams, Git/version control workflows, or basic CI/CD concepts. - Basic understanding of database performance tuning, ETL processes, or data modeling.
A reasonable estimate of the available {annual or hourly} pay scale for this position is: $140,000-$150,000 annually. The actual compensation offered may vary depending on qualifications and other factors essential to the performance of duties and is determined by the hiring authority.
